Minister of Sri Lanka plantation industries in URSUS

Sri Lankan Minister of Plantation Industries Mr. Navin Dissanayake, who is on an official visit to Poland today (13.09.2018) was our guest at the Warsaw headquarters of URSUS S.A. The host of the meeting was Mr. Andrzej Zarajczyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of URSUS S.A. and President of the Board of POL-MOT Holding S.A.

The talks concerned agricultural mechanization projects and environmentally friendly public transport.

The Minister was accompanied by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, his Excellency Tissa Wijeratne.

The delegation from Sri Lanka also held a meeting at the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology with Minister Marcin Ociepa and Szymon Giżyński from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Sri Lanka is an important partner in the context of the possibility of developing cooperation in the machinery sector for the agro industry. In 2017, there was a 3.5-fold increase in the value of Polish exports to Sri Lanka in this sector, compared to 2016. In 2017, exports reached the value of EUR 22.6 million, the most important Polish export commodity for the Sri Lankan market is sugar, which accounts for 93% of the value of agro-food exports.
