Through Lublin with Ursus
The new URSUS trolleybuses went on the route. They can be seen in the lines no. 151, 153, 155 and 156. In compliance with the specification, they are equipped with an auxiliary drive which allows driving 5 km without connection to the contact line. This is an absolute novelty and an extraordinary solution at the national level.

This is an absolute novelty and an extraordinary solution at the national level. Till now all trolleybuses driving in Poland didn’t have possibility of driving after their disconnection from the contact line. However now, thanks to the URSUS company, it has changed and the Lublin citizens are the first to go by trolleybus which in case of any unexpected electric supply failure will be able to disconnect from the contact line, to avoid a traffic jam and drive passengers to the nearest stop without any problems. Moreover, these are trolleybuses partially assembled in Lublin and this another reason for satisfaction.
Low floor trolleybuses are 12 meters long and are equipped with ticket machines. Trolleybuses delivered by the consortium URSUS are undoubtedly the most updated vehicles of this type used in Poland. We are very satisfied that despite little problems we managed to provide the town and its citizens with the contracted trolleybuses – said Mr Jan Wielgus, director of the factory URSUS in Lublin. – A little delay that we have had in their delivery to ZTM was caused by a 2-month- delay of the German company ZF in supplying components to our factory, which resulted from a flood that occurred in the supplier’s region at that time. The trolleybuses manufactured by the consortium of URSUS are built on the basis of the components produced by renowned companies like ZF and CEGELEC, what assures quality and durability of the products.
